Calmpanion
A wearable scent to calm rescue dogs.
Rescue dogs often carry emotional traces of displacement and past instability, shaping how they trust people and interact with other dogs. This project explores how design can quietly support their sense of calm, belonging and confidence.
It presents a sustainable, scent-based wearable inspired by aromatherapy, using botanical materials from Eastern and Western traditions. Lightweight and unobtrusive, it releases gentle aromas to soothe tension and encourage calmer social interaction.
Rather than directly altering behaviour, the design creates a supportive sensory environment that nurtures emotional comfort and gradual connection.
