Lime-Coral is a sustainable jewellery collection created from domestic limescale. In everyday life, limescale is an unavoidable mineral buildup that clogs pipes and kettles. Typically treated as waste, this material is reclaimed and transformed into wearable pieces.
The process involves harvesting mineral deposits from domestic environments and using controlled methods to replicate the way minerals accumulate over time. These deposits are stabilised and refined, guiding the material into organic, reef-like structures that echo the growth patterns of marine coral.
In this collection, limescale is no longer a residue to be removed but the primary material for jewellery. By transforming a household byproduct into wearable forms, the project proposes a direct reuse of mineral waste, turning a recurring maintenance issue into a sustainable resource.
