Car seat crafted from Chinese medicinal plants.

Inspired by the traditional knowledge of China’s Lisu ethnic minority, this project extracts functional compounds from local medicinal plants to create eco-friendly fibres with natural antibacterial properties.

Integrating textile design and material science, the fibre is applied to a car seat - a surface that remains in prolonged contact with the body and is prone to heat and perspiration. The material helps regulate moisture and alleviate skin irritation, including redness, itching, and acne associated with overheating.

By combining cultural heritage with sustainable innovation, the project offers a practical textile solution for everyday use, connecting traditional knowledge with contemporary applications.
