Our commitment and legal obligations Web standards and technologies
We commit to ensuring the communications we produce are clear and accessible to the widest range of people.
We recognise our obligations under The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Equality Act 2010.
This website is built on Sqaurespace and uses a free Squarespace theme called Jasper. It uses HTML 5 (HyperText Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to render content. Other technologies are also used including JavaScript.
We recognise we have more work to do to make this website accessible.
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
This website is not fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.
Known Limitations
• Many links are missing meaningful text and some links with the same destination may not have consistent descriptions.
• Images may be missing alternative text and decorative images may be missing null alt text. Some linked images are also missing alternative text.
• The animation on the homepage loops consistently and cannot be stopped, paused or played by the user.
• This website is not entirely navigable using a keyboard and may not be entirely compatible with assistive technologies such as screen readers.
• Keyboard focus is missing in some areas of the site which may cause problems for users navigating the site using only a keyboard.
• There is redundant WAI-ARIA attribute on this website and a form control label is missing text. This may cause issues for users of screen readers and other assistive technology.
We are working to meet the compliance as specified in The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 by the September 2020 deadline.

If you feel we have not answered your complaint satisfactorily, please contact us at materialfutures@csm.arts.ac.uk. again. We will escalate your complaint to Kieren Jones (MA Material Futures Course Leader) who will work with the team who provides the service/content to get you a response.
